Japan - Tokyo : Tsukiji Fish Market + Ginza

Japan : Tokyo - May 2015

Tsukiji Fish Market 築地市場

On our way to Tsukiji fish market, we walked past petrol station and were very fascinated to see their pumps were hanging from the ceiling. This can save alot spaces!

Here we are at Tsukiji fish market. It was only around 9+am and it was already so crowded. We gave the morning tuna auction a miss because it is too early for us - 4am for goodness sake.

Tsukiji fish market is a famous wholesale market for fish, fruits and vegetables in Tokyo. Most people go there for fresh and cheap seafood/sushi for breakfast or lunch. Most stalls close around noon or early afternoon.

The Ginza is Tokyo's famous upmarket shopping, dining and entertainment district just like our Orchard road with departmental stores, boutiques and restaurants.

Chuo Dori street

Chuo Dori street closes traffic and becomes a large pedestrian zone during weekend from 12noon to 5pm.

Our favourite past time is to stroll at departmental foodstore where we can find all the cheap, cutest and colourful sushi and snack.

Japan - Ashikaga Flower Park

Japan : Ashikaga - May 2015

On route back to Tokyo, we did a little detour to Ashikaga Flower Park hoping to catch wisteria (mid apr to mid may) at its season tail.

Expensive lunch on shinkansen

My favourite cactus

They are so cute that I almost bought it but not sure how do I bring back home...

Personally I super love looking at flower field. Perhaps it gives me a calm and satisfying feeling that can help me destress.

SAD. We have past the bloom period and most of them have withered onto the ground.

Luckily, the flower park has other flowers too.. consolation prize.

roses at their peak now
