Thailand - Bangkok : #CafeHoppingBKK Roast Coffee & Eatery

Roast Coffee & Eatery

"I need a
second visit
soon!"

Till date, other than Sheep Cafe in Korea, this is the best coffee I had. I have no knowledge about coffee or coffee seeds, this is the one coffee that I do not mind refilling another cup.

"The Daily Roast" consists of interesting articles, interviews, collaboration news, recipes and lastly the menu.

We went on a weekday morning for brunch and the place was pretty empty. I would say the place is a little inaccessible as it is not near any BTS station. Having said that, I prefer a cafe with less crowded, less noisy and more personal spaces like this. Mr Jones Orphanage is just next door. You can pop by if you want dessert after brunch.

Interior of the cafe

Bf ordered his favorite Matcha Latte THB120

I am very inquisitive about this ice espresso latte that is the reverse engineered ice latte where the espresso is turned into ice cube, topped with milky foam and served with a bottle of milk. This reverse engineered espresso was created by their barista who always hated the flavor of his iced coffee get diluted from the melted ice. This way, the espresso will always remain cold and the flavor surprisingly get stronger over time.

Classic Eggs Benedict THB240

This dish was so-so. The eggs were not drooling as I expected.

Cranberry, Creamcheese French Toast THB280

I like this french toast. The combination of the french toast, cranberry sauce and the corn flakes was amazing! The bread was nicely toasted with crust crunchy and soft inside. With the sugar powder, the whole dish was quite sweet for me already but you could drip with maple sauce at the side. I feel the ice cream at the side was unnecessary though.

I would come back for their coffee and food!

Thailand - Bangkok : #CafeHoppingBKK After You dessert cafe

Dessert Cafe - After You

The first thing you gonna notice about this dessert cafe is its super long queue. Being super kiasu Singaporean, of course queue right! #goodfoodofcoursemustwait lol

The first time I visited this dessert cafe was with my girlfriends at Siam Paragon's branch and we waited for at least 1.5 hour standing outside the cafe. We took turn to shop around. Do not think they accept reservation, otherwise, why would so many people crowd outside the premises. #clevermove

Lesson learnt. This time, we reached the cafe very early in the morning and I guess not many know of Central World's branch. No queue at all and we got to choose the seats we want lol.. #notgoodsignforthecafethough

desserts always the good start of the day~ sugar rush

Bf's favourite matcha latte

My favourite mocha 115bahts

Shibuya Honey Toast 165bahts

If you do not know what to order still, try their signature Shibuya honey toast. Their toast indeed was well baked near to perfection. Outside was crispy but not too hard whereas inside was warm and soft but not so soggy that it could not take the weight of the vanilla ice cream on top. If you like even sweeter, can always add honey on top to bring out the buttery taste.

Try the original flavour before trying any other flavour. Would be even better if we get to choose the flavour of the ice cream..

Hint: best served for 2-3 people.

Thailand - Bangkok : #CafeHoppingBKK "Kids' Playground" Mr. Jones' Orphanage

Mr. Jones' Orphanage

The name of this desserts cafe sounds a little sad and creepy but the quirky decoration has made itself the most welcoming orphanage ever. Mr. Jones, well done in giving it such an intriguing name.

When you walk in the cafe, it is almost as if you enter another world that separates you from the noisy and messy environment outside - a long wooden train tracks that runs around the whole cafe, teddy bears dangling around and piles of cakes on a big dining table in the middle of the cafe. The visual digestion has already half filled up our stomach already.

The cafe is a little cramped due to so many decoration and furniture. The walkway in between tables is really small, the space between the table and the chair is very tight, the drop down lamp is a little too low (I have to avoid bumping into it when I sit down) and lastly the ceiling is too low (although I'm short so not much issue for me, but still!). There are even "watch your head" signs everywhere.

I guess the teddy bears refer to the orphan?

Large varieties of cakes and pies for your selection.

This is just too cute to put into your mouth!

I heard this is the most recommended dessert so I am a little regretted (keep hitting my heart) for not ordering that. You will have to eat it while hot otherwise it will become a cold choky thick mud pie that very hard to swallow.

Kitkat + M&M cake! Beautiful and colourful cake but I would guess too chocolaty to swallow as well.

Finally, we only ordered one cake to share as we were so full from last meal. So this is lemon meringue cake (135 bahts) and I would love it even more if the cream is lesser.

I am not a big fan for cakes but I would recommend to come here for its concept as I feel the selling point of this cafe is more on the cafe design than the desserts.
